Wildrock Campground, Willard, WI

Wild Rock Campground in West-Central Wisconsin offers around 27 campsite and enjoys incredible access to the trails of the Quad County ATV Trail System. This campground is located in West-Central Clark County and is some-what close to the center of the Quad County system. All 500 or so, Miles of it!

The campground is a shared facility between campers, OHV campers and Horse Campers. Kind of unique, especially for the State of Wisconsin. As the campground is close to the center of the trail system, the campground parking area is a very popular stopping point for the many OHVers in the area, They usually stay outside the campground area in the parking lot, so it’s not any issue to those camping here. Just something to be aware of.

The campground used to be fully primitive, but as of our visit here, we noticed most sites do have electricity but are lacking water and sewer hook-ups. There are potable water spigots around the campground for those that need potable water and for the Horse Campers. There is a dump station on-site as well.

Additionally, there is a newer playground for children and a warming center for snowmobilers, usually not open for OHVers, it’s meant for snowmobilers. Also on-site is a large covered shelter for picnics or just lounging after riding.

There are primitive pit toilets on-site for restrooms, if needed.

The campground offers a great layout and plenty of space between campsites to really sprawl out!

This campground was not busy and there were sites available during this busy OHV weekend, One of the first weekends OHVing was opened for most Wisconsin Trails.

Horse Campers…

Wild Rock Campground offers many amenities for horse trail riders and is a top destination for this type of riding. The campground offers pens behind the camp-sites for horses to stretch out their legs after being trailered in from their pasture-homes!

It’s really cool to hear the Horses neighing and talking to each other while relaxing at the campground, very unique! There are dumps spots for the horse manure within the campground, but it never smelled of horse manure while I was there.

A top pick…

This campground offers the right stuff. I really enjoyed this campground as I do most enjoy primitive camping.

I did not use electricity but it’s nice to have the option.

Due to the location and amenities, I would highly recommend this campground for OHVers and all campers as it is very remote and very peaceful!
