Continually update article… I update this article as I find new additions. Updated: 7/15/2025
I have spent a ton of time in Wisconsin (It’s where we’re from) and it’s many trails and campgrounds, This article will attempt to bring together all of my favorite Campgrounds that have trail access in the state.
This list is in no particular order… They are all too good to number them!

Drummond Lake Campground
Drummond, Wisconsin
Incredible ohv centric campground in the heart of Drummond, Wisconsin has now become my absolutely favorite campground, in Wisconsin.

Wildrock Campground
Willard, Wisconsin
Wildrock Campground checked all the boxes for my style of camping. Remote, Excellent OHV Access and Horses. LOL, read my article about this campground to learn what I’m talking about.

Kreher Park Campground
Ashland, Wisconsin
Located right on Lake Superior, Kreher Park Campground is an epic base for North-western Wisconsin’s Tri-County Trail.

Weber Lake Campground
Iron Belt, Wisconsin
Incredible campground and facilties on Weber Lake in Iron County. Bugs would be the only downfall, but the views make this a top pick! Close to one of my most favorite Wisconsin Trails, Iron County Trail #6!

Wildcat County Park
Neillsville, Wisconsin
This campground is small, under 10 sites, features an improved camping area with no electric, water or sewer hook-ups. There are pit toilets on-site. The County park offers direct access to the trails and is roughly half-way between Hatfield and Neillsville. Offers Great access via County Hwy B, a paved road, hard to find around these parts.
Additionally, this park offers a mound with incredible overlooks and miles of hiking trails.

Trailside Campground
Laona, Wisconsin
Great campground with over 30 campsites and an awesome layout, clean facilities and fantastic access to the Forest County Trail System.

Snyder Lake Campground
Neillsville, Wisconsin
This campground has always been a favorite of mine. Great campground, campsites are large and campground is located on Snyder Lake and offers non-motorized boating and swimming.
Facilities are in excellent shape and direct access to the trails and the community of Neillsville

Schomberg Campground
Hurley, Wisconsin
Another Favorite Campground in the Northwoods, Facilities are top notch in this small campground. There is even a atv wash bay to wash after your trails riding!

Forest Pond Campground
Hiles, Wisconsin
This campground is near Eagle River, but considered Forest County. Must access trails via forest roads to the north of the campground, but worth the extra driving, fantastic campground only issue is road noise for tents.

McClintock County Campground
Athelstane, Wisconsin
Epic Campground in the middle of nowhere in Marrinette County. It is a campground with no hook-ups and only pit toilets but offers a view of the Peshtigo River! Also it’s the only county camping facility offering access to ohvers.

Wolf Creek Campground
Gratiot, Wisconsin
Great Municipal Campground in Southwestern Wisconsin on the Cheese State Trail. Clean facilities and an awesome campground layout along Wolf Creek.

Torch Lake Campground
Conover, Wisconsin
Top Notch facilities and access to the trails of Vilas County! This is a large campground.

Apostle Islands Area Campground
Bayfield, Wisconsin
This campground is wonderful for off-roading families! There is plenty to do for the kids while staying here and the Bayfield County Trails are some of the best in Wisconsin!

Buck N Beam’s Campground
Cameron, Wisconsin
Nice, smaller campground with access to Barron County Trails and the community of Cameron. Great facilities and on-site bar / restaurant.
