I will miss my trusty chariot, My old truck traveled to a ton of interesting destinations.
Well, Here we go again…
After many years traveling with my Ram 2500 and towing thousands of miles across the country, long trips to destinations like New Mexico, Montana & more. I set out looking for a better towing platform for my needs, after one year towing my 41ft fifth wheel.

While my 2019 Ram 2500 was not “overloaded”, It certainly felt sloshy in the rear-end due to the weight of the fifth wheel trailer, this was in addition to the forces of wind acting on the trailer while driving. If fully loaded with water, fuel (trailer has fuel station) and everything else, I would be nearing the weight limits of this truck. Also, I couldn’t really carry any passengers in the truck while towing because I technically would have been overweight on the truck at that point. What i’m saying is, it was too close for comfort.
I needed a “bigger” truck and I ended up finding my new truck after several months of searching, yes, I am going back to Chevrolet…
Selling my truck…

I decided to use Carvana to sell my truck, and that was the easiest option. I work a “real” job in addition to this website (My second job) and the entire process could not have been simper, Everything was done online, all documents uploaded, not even a phone call or anything. All verifications and documents were completed online, Very nice…
They scheduled a meeting to appraise the vehicle and did run into one “issue”. They couldn’t carry my truck on their “Carvana-branded” truck, My truck was too heavy. So within 24-hours they sent another third-party towing company to retrieve the my old truck that they approved to buy from me.
Overall, a very easy process, their website is user friendly and there is human help available for those that need it.
I did receive one phone call from the Carvana associate, the day of appraisal to verify that I would be there and to verify the address.
An incredible easy, fast & efficient way to sell your vehicle. I can only speak to the selling process as I didn’t buy the new truck from Carvana. I wasn’t able to find the “right” truck using their services. So, I set out using various websites like cars.com & cargurus.com to find the truck I needed. It’ took two to three months of searching and lots of phone calls back and fourth to various dealerships, wow, what a process.
New Truck Has My “Heart-beating” (Chevrolet Reference) with anticipation…

After many years purchasing used vehicles, I decided to go the “new” truck route and after months of searching I found my new truck.
It’s a 2025 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 (Duramax Diesel), Regular cab, summit white with the Z71, Alaska Package & Trailer Towing Packages, respectively.
I wanted certain packages for various reasons, for example…
- Trailering Package – Obviously I plan on towing with this truck…
- Z71 Package – because of the suspension mainly, these are heavy-duty trucks and having an “off-road” suspension would help with the stiffness while driving.
- Alaska Edition – because of the beefed up front-end (snowplowing capability) though I will never plow with this truck, it’s great having the re-enforced components.
- LT Edition – I wanted the interior to be more comfortable because I spend so much time traveling (basically every weekend during spring, summer and fall, no winters because of my ‘“real” job)
I didn’t just run into this purchase blindly, I spent about a year researching trucks and finally settled on this truck. I have had a Chevrolet Silverado in the past and absolutely loved it, I’m falling for this one as well.
As of 2024 models and newer, these trucks have improved mechanically and improved interiors.
Why did I go this route, let’s get into that…

Chevy’s Slogan Was “Heart-Beat Of America” back in the day, hence this section’s header… [/caption]
Why…

As mentioned, I spent about a year researching and decided on a regular cab truck, I have always had crew cabs (four-doors) in the past.
This time, I wanted a regular cab (two-doors) pickup due to the shorter wheel-base and the fact that I don’t ever really carry passengers with me.

LT trim includes the touch screen and all-digital instrument cluster!
Also, Truck prices currently are insane and I wanted to have a better trim level, so by purchasing a regular cab, I could save a little money in one area and use that to get a better trim level. I use the navigation systems on my trucks religiously (Apple CarPlay & RV Life) and wanted to have a better trim level because I spend so much time traveling. Sometimes it’s all about comfort.
Why this one in particular, well, to be honest, I didn’t think i’d ever own a white vehicle and it was not my intention to go this route, it sorta just happened. Due to the limited availability of trucks and especially the one I needed to have, I was almost forced by the market to purchase this truck.
Now that I have it, I think it’s beautiful. Honestly, I am scared of how i’m going to keep it clean but I will figure it out as time marches on.
I will write more about how things are going with the new truck going forward and I will be brutally honest when I need to be. Gonna be interesting…
