Beautiful Campground, lacking campground amenities, read more below…
My stay at Camping in the clouds is mixed, I ran into some facilities issues that need to be addressed by the owner and I will get into this further in this article. I feel that this Campground should be called an RV park not a campground, In it’s current state. First, I want to discuss the positives…
As campgrounds go, this is average size but what makes this Campground special is just how hilly it is. So hilly in fact, I was concerned about how I was going to make it out with my two wheel drive truck. I was concerned enough about this though, that I left early because rain was forecasted for the area and I didn’t want to take a chance not being able to make it out. Those people with four wheel drive trucks shouldn’t worry as much.
You will see in the photos I provide, just how great the campground layout is and why it was such a different experience.

Massive campsites and very hilly terrain…
As mentioned, the campground is hilly, you will notice this as you drive further into the campground. The sites are massive and fairly flat. I did have to adjust my rig a little due to some uneven-ness. Not a big deal.
The best spots, at this Campground, for views or should I re-phrase that as the high spots, seem to be seasonal sites, which kinda is a disappointment because the views of the surrounding forest are great from those vantage points from what I could see.

The Facilities…

Outside restaurant.
Camping In The Clouds is suppose to be a campground, according to their website but to me seems to be more of an RV Park. To clarify, I see campgrounds as offering most everything, any type of camper needs, this includes tent campers.
While the facilities include showers and restrooms, they seem to be a forgotten afterthought, as all the facilities here are run down and unused.

Inside the dinning area…
The only decent toilets, were in the restaurant, which is where I had to go because my campsite, which was supposed to be full hook-up, lacked the sewer holding tank. The tank was laying beside the campsite waiting to be installed. To be fair, the manager did let me know he could come out with a pumper to evacuate the tanks on my RV, but I had to leave early due to rain so I was not able to arrange pick-up.
The camper toilets, which are located in the middle of the campground was okay, but there were massive amounts of bugs and spiders, making them unusable in that state. A good cleaning would go a long way, You can tell there is very little maintenance on that building, but it was “clean”ish.
I got a feeling from the manager that this campground is under new management and improvements are being made. It’s just a shame because this campground has so much potential to be epic for every type of camper!
There is a full service restaurant and bar on site as well, great food. I had the wood-fired pizza (pictured below) fantastic!
