Doc’s Bunkhouse Is A Massive ATV Centric Campground In The Heart Of Central Wisconsin’s Quad County Trail System. I have several issues to address with this location and some things for you to consider if you’re looking to stay at this campground…

My campsite at Doc’s Bunkhouse…
Let’s get into the positive details first…
Doc’s Bunkhouse is in an almost perfect location, centered, among the Quad County Trail System, which consists Of Jackson, Clark, Eau Claire & Trempleau Counties, In what is known as Wisconsin’s Indianhead Region. This is one of the prime areas for ohving in the State Of Wisconsin, You can go into the blog for details about each of these counties trails in my blog…

The Campground offers all modern amenities on-site, including a bar and restaurant.
The Campground is located just off US Hwy 12, so getting into the campground with your rig should be no problem!
But… In the case of this campground, Location isn’t all it’s cracked up to be, More on that after this…

Great view of one area of the campground while entering…
As your entering the campground, your greeted with a great view of the swimming pond and part of the campground, the main part of the campground, I would say. This area is a bit tight and mainly filled with seasonal campers.
The campground is great from a standpoint of camping and ohving, beautiful layout keeps everyone spaced out nicely, even though the campground is huge.

Several Different Beach Areas…
The Issues, Staying Here…

This photo shows another area of the campground, As mentioned, this campground is large and rowdy on the weekends. I had my own issues with the seasonal campers while here.

This photo kind of shows you what to expect here, a smashed up Polaris RZR, these people are crazy and it shows. Just be aware of this while planning to stay here, while not overwhelming, It’s noticeable, UTVs are driving around most of the night, I assume, going from campsite to campsite, visiting…
Another major issue I had while here was the trains… There is a major regional rail-line located on the edge of the property and while most of the night is faily peaceful minus the utv driving around, Early morning usually sees freight train traffic, in my case, about 3:50 am and again closer to 5 am. This was a major flaw and one I will remember going forward. You are far enough away from the tracks but it still woke me up out of my sleep.

The campsites, the few that are available to weekenders, are away from the main camping area and offer electric, water and sewer hook-ups. The sites are gravel as you can see in the photo and built up so flooding shouldn’t be an issue.

I want to reiterate that I feel this campground is a great spot, for camping and ohving, the problem always seems to come down to the seasonal campers. I’m sorry to those that follow the rules, but it seems the majority in my experiences are trouble-makers and there were a few here at this campground, sad.

That aside, the amenities are great, great location. Lots for the kids to do, you can see the play areas below…

Conclusion…
+ Great Location, Great Amenities
– Campground is massive, very rowdy crowd.
In conclusion, I want to you to try this campground. While it has it’s issues, most campgrounds do, This is such a great location and the amenities are great as well.
