Williams to Grand Canyon Experience

UTV Offroad Adventures once again delivered a weekend to remember with the 2025 Williams to the Grand Canyon Experience, taking 31 SXS machines and about 70 participants on an unforgettable journey from the charming mountain town of Williams, Arizona — the “Gateway to the Grand Canyon.” Known for its nostalgic Route 66 charm, historic downtown, and attractions like Bearizona Wildlife Park, Williams set the perfect stage for this annual adventure.

Friday night check-in was held at Wild West Junction, where participants received swag bags, event T-shirts, meal tickets, raffle tickets, and a poker card. The excitement built as riders geared up for Saturday’s guided ride to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon — a 90-mile trek one way. Along the way, the group stopped to explore the fascinating Lava River Caves and took in sweeping views from the Grandview Lookout Tower before continuing into Grand Canyon National Park.

The trails leading to the canyon were beautiful, with a mix of forest scenery and wide-open views. Once inside the park, the overlooks were simply spectacular. Though smoke from a North Rim fire could be seen in the distance, the canyon from the South Rim was as breathtaking as ever.

Accommodations for the night were at the Red Feather Lodge in Tusayan, just outside the entrance to Grand Canyon National Park. The group dinner that night was at Plaza Bonita, conveniently located right next door to the Red Feather Lodge.

Saturday night fun included the famous Dumb Ass Award, which went to a good-humored couple who accidentally left their hand-held radio mic on for quite a while — providing a constant, unintentional soundtrack that drove fellow riders hilariously crazy. The farthest travelers came from Missouri, with others joining from Idaho, Texas, New Mexico, Utah, California, Panama, and Arizona. The oldest participant, an inspiring 80-year-old woman, showed that adventure has no age limit.

The poker winner, Danny Ernest, claimed a $400 pot and generously donated it to charity. UTV Offroad matched the amount, doubling the donation to Christmas Tree Angels. Raffles rounded out the evening with smiles and prizes shared all around.

Sunday’s return to Williams took a different route, showcasing new trails and stunning views, bringing more gorgeous scenery and perfect weather.Though the weather stayed warm, the dense pine forest provided cool relief, and the shared laughter, generosity, and trail stories made the 2025 Williams to the Grand Canyon Experience an adventure no one will forget.

And here’s the best part—next year’s Williams to the Grand Canyon event will include an extra day in Tusayan, giving riders more time to explore, connect, and make the weekend even more eventful.
